Hudaibiya Agreement Was Written By

Another letter from Hadrat `Umar the Second Caliph, addressed to his`d b. Abu Waqqas, speaks eloquently of the noble spirit with which Muslims have urged them to take up arms: it is expressly taken from „Tarikh al-Tabari” and „Kamiln Ibn al-Athir” and from the report of Al-Bukhari under the chapter „Al-Shurut „. It is noted that „The Prophet (SA) took the pen from `Ali`s hand and wrote himself.” In the statements of Al-Tabaris and Ibn al-Athir, there is an additional sentence: „The messenger of Allah took the pen of „All hand and even if it was not appropriate for him to write, he wrote.” Then the Prophet (s) said: „Writing is what Muhammad, Rasul Allah with Suhayl b. Agreement. Suhayl said, „If we knew you as Rasul Allah, we would not fight you so much! This title should also be omitted, and „Muhammad b. Abd Allah” should be written instead. The Prophet (s) accepted and when he found it difficult for „Ali b Abi Talib (a) to omit the title of Rasul Allah after the name of the prophet (s), the prophet (s) himself reaches out his finger and says, „O`Ali, show me the place and let me omit that title himself.” Then Quraysh sent people to the Muslim camp, but they couldn`t reach an agreement. Indeed, the leaders of Quraysh (including Abu Sufyan, who failed in the battle of Ahzab against the Muslims and embarrassed themselves before the Arabs) regarded the entry of Muslims into Mecca as a humiliation for themselves and a cause of new criticism of the Arabs. After the agreement between the two sides on the release of the prisoners, the Prophet (s) and the representative of Quraysh signed a peace treaty.

Knowing the benefits of this peace treaty, the prophet (s) showed great tolerance, an example of this, Suhayl`s request b. „Amr for the omission of „Bism Allah al-Rahman al-Rahim” [In the name of God, of all compassionate, merciful] from the beginning of the letter and instead „Bismik Allahumma” [In the name of God, of the compassionate, the merciful] from the beginning of the letter and instead „Bismik Allahumma” [In the name of God, the merciful] from the beginning of the letter and instead „Bisk Allahum” [In the name of God, the merciful] from the beginning of the letter and instead „Bisk Allahumma” [In the name of God, the merciful] from the beginning of the letter and instead „Bisk Allahumma” [In the name of God, the merciful] , O God] and omitting the title of „Rasul Allah” according to the prophet`s name and instead writing Muhammad b. Abd Allah. Even if both sides agreed on the terms, the treaty is unquestionably in favour of the Quraian side. Nevertheless, the Prophet s.a.w saw something that his companions did not see in the treaty, an opportunity to strengthen initiatives to strengthen community and nation initiatives in Madinah.
