Czars Shared Services and the Division of Local Government Service Unit (LAB) support local authorities that support these efforts. The department`s technical advisors will help you every step of the way. Collaborators will help you prepare your community for future shared services opportunities or identify opportunities in interested communities that are uns sure how to proceed. Once projects are identified, staff in your community help develop a free feasibility study and design an agreement. As soon as municipalities decide to proceed, advisors are available to guide implementation. The LAB promotes a process that aims to listen to and protect all stakeholders, implement best practices and ensure that your community makes the best offer for your taxpayers. There are nearly 600 school districts and 565 municipalities in New Jersey, many of which offer individual services ranging from canine licensing to fire protection.
